Chapter 7

Jason

It didn’t take everyone long to fix the little bit of mess Seth made in the church and now looking around you’d never know he was here. Perfect. I’d have rather not told Ella, but after her confronting me last night in her room, I knew she wouldn’t go for that.

All the guys are at Mom and Dad’s house getting dressed, and it’s been great having them around. I’m in my old room and I take a look around and realize it was a really weird time for me. I was working at WJ’s and into all things Iron Man and trucks.

I remember my senior year of high school Dad took me to Dallas for a monster truck show and it was a whole weekend just him and I. I found out then I got my love of trucks from him. My love for the color red might have come from my iron man days though.

I smile. You can’t beat an old truck with a bench seat where you can pull your girl close as you are driving down the road.

There is a knock on the door and Blaze peeks his head in.

“Hey, man. Riley is texting for us to get down to the church.”

I smile. Show time. Just as I’m stepping out the door to head to the church my phone goes off.

Ella: I don’t want our first kiss to be in front of everyone! What were we thinking?

Me: Then it won’t be. Trust me?

Ella: Always.

Me: See you soon, sweetheart.

I can’t keep the smile off my face. I will kiss her anywhere, but knowing she is thinking about it, grips my heart. Knowing it will be a moment just between us is perfect. My mind starts racing with ideas.

We get to the church and I take my place at the end of the aisle with Pastor Greg.

“Hey there, Jason. You ready for today?”

“Pastor Greg all due respect, I’m so damn ready I think I’d crawl out of my skin if I had to wait another day.”

He laughs at that. The kind of laugh that fills the church and has a way of calming my nerves. He’s a great guy and I can see why the church ladies try to push every single girl in town his way. He’s going to make a great husband one day.

Then the music changes and couples start walking down the aisle. Ella decided to have the couples stand together just like Megan did. I think that’s more for Royce’s benefit though.

Royce walks in first with Anna Mae on his arm and a beaming smile. They both seem happy and I think someday soon we will be at their wedding.

Next are Hunter and Megan they have this dreamy look on their face, no doubt reliving their wedding here just a month ago.

Then comes Sage and Colt both with big smiles. Those two have been so much happier since they found their way back to each other.

Riley and Blaze follow, and her baby bump is on full display.
